From our Importer: Ricardo Hirofumi is a second-generation coffee farmer who is continuing the work and passion his parents started in 1975 at the Riacho Das Varas farm. In the past, the Chapada De Minas region was not recognized as a suitable area for producing high quality coffee. Despite these claims, Ricardo’s family was persistent and believed there was still potential for growth in this area. As a result, Ricardo’s family invested a lot of time and effort into creating fertile and healthy land suitable for growing exceptional coffee. Their perseverance paid off as the coffees produced at this farm have consistently showcased high quality flavour attributes each year. Ricardo’s love for coffee farming also motivates him to seek continuous improvements for his crop, leading him to develop new sustainable means of adding value to the farm. The result of his efforts can be seen in the juicy, sweet, and refreshing flavours exhibited in the final cup.
